April Johnson, President, Ms. Johnson teaches private ballet and jazz dance in Vale. She is also a professional photographer with a background in journalism and advertising. When Ms. Johnson moved to the area a few years ago she was worried at the lack of arts opportunities and vowed to create whatever she could for the benefit of her children and others.
Darcy Arriola Kindschy, Secretary Ms. Arriola Kindschy, now a business and estate attorney, was raised in the rural Vale area during a time the arts were a strong priority in the community. She excelled in piano and organ, playing publicly and competitively, and teaching during her younger years. Now, she plays only privately but works to build the same opportunities she had to today’s children.
Jeffrey B. Wagner, Treasurer Mr. Wagner has been an upper elementary level public school teacher for over 20 years. He teaches children at a time when their appreciation of the arts should be developed, and sees the harm done when children do not receive adequate arts education at an early age. Mr. Wagner enjoys playing music personally.
Ruth Boyle, Ms. Boyle has been in the Vale area for over 20 years. She is a professional visual artist and private arts educator. Ms. Boyle designed and painted one of the murals depicting Vale’s Oregon Trail history. She has long been a patron of the arts in the Vale area, both the visual arts that are her particular expertise, and with her children and husband music and dance.
Eileen Wagner, Ms. Wagner has been an elementary level public school teacher for over 20 years. She incorporates music and the visual arts into her curriculum, and sees the benefits of early arts education to the later math and science skills of her students. She has seen the decline in public arts education in the Vale School District. Ms. Wagner enjoys playing music personally.
Robert K. Keveren, Dr. Keveren has retired from his dental practice but remains a strong patron of the arts in Vale. His children were both extensively involved in music in Vale, through the private and public systems - one has become a world-renowned musician from this background. Dr. Keveren strongly supports the re-building of Vale’s music education programs in particular, to give our youth the opportunities in life they deserve. He recalls the days our Vale High School Jazz Band took State awards regularly and knows Vale youth have a long way to build from the existence of no band class in the high school at all during the past few years.
Logan Hamilton, Mr. Hamilton operates one of Vale’s most important businesses, and is also a strong supporter of the arts and arts education in Vale. He knows the importance of art education for his elementary age children and keeps them involved in any programs available. He hopes to create more opportunity in the arts for our community.
